Because of excessive speed related accidents, it is becoming common place to reduce top travel speeds in facilities. While reducing travel speeds is a natural and positive reaction to speed related accidents, many times safety comes at the expense of production - UP UNTIL NOW! With PACE-One ZSC you get the best of both worlds, reduced speeds in sensitive areas such as cross walks, bay doors, high travel areas, pedestrian crossings, temporary work areas, trailer loading doors, roll up doors and around hazmat and valuable inventories. In non-sensitive areas you get whatever higher speed is deemed appropriate making your operation more productive. It's important to note, PACE-One ZSC is not a passive warning system (Caution, Watch Out for ....", or "Slow to X MPH When...."). It is an active speed control system where the operator has no control of when it activates. The Zone Speed Control system is built around SSC's PACE-One G2 controller. Added to this is a truck mounted InfraRed receiver. On the facility side is mounted InfraRed transmitters - as many as needed to identtify the differeent areas where slower travel speeds are desired. MAKE YOUR OPERATION SAFER BUT NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF PRODUCTION. This technology is NOT limited to forklifts and can be used on any equipment with electric governors.
In the video, we are showing a 3-zone example. Outside building is 10MPH, the blue area inside is 8MPH and the yellow area is 5MPH. For reference sake only, with the ZSC settings shown above we get roughly a 27% quicker cycle time than just running the truck at 5MPH.
