Functional Description SmartTruck is an EZ to install electronic control system that when fully enabled limits a vehicle’s top travel speeds, modifies acceleration rates, limits idling times, automatically idles up an engine (when needed).
for PTOs) and safely shuts down a working engine when operating outside accepted working parameters. SmartTruck EZ increases fuel savings and ensures safer driving. SmartTruck EZ is composed of an Electronic Control Module, a pass-thru signal module and miscellaneous harnesses.
Speed Limiter Three independent top travel speeds can be set.Speed One is generally a vehicle’s top overall travel speed.Speed Two is generally a middle speed such as that used for "striping" or "spraying".The most common Speed Three is a single digit Reverse speed.
Acceleration Ramp A vehicle’s acceleration rate is modified via settings within the Pace-1 Speed Limiter and Acceleration Ramp. The acceleration ramp is easily modified by extending the time it takes for the throttle pedal to get from Idle to Wide Open Throttle. The modified acceleration ramp is over-ridden when the vehicle reaches the programmed “End Speed”, giving full power back in highway or other passing conditions.
Idle Limiter Vehicle idling times are limited when the vehicle transmission is placed in Park and the idle voltage stays below a programmed level and/or there is no vehicle travel speed. When these conditions exist for a set period of time, an audible/visual warning activates prior to shutdown.
Idle Up There are two separate Idle Up settings. Each Idle Up setting is triggered by a switch or signal which automatically takes engine RPMs to set levels.
Shutdown SmartTruck EZ monitors low engine oil pressure and high coolant temperatures. When a vehicle looses oil pressure or exceeds recommended engine coolant operating conditions, a pre-shutdown audible and/or visual warning commences. After the warning expires, the truck goes into limp mode followed by either a timed or a vehicle “zero” speed shutdown.
Ucal Programmer Programming all of the above parameters is easily accomplished with the Windows based uCal Programmer and software.Complete truck settings can be imported into “like” trucks with the click of a mouse.
