Speedzone G2

Mechanical Governor Conversion

Mechanical assembly with springs and metal components.

Old Truck, New Tech

The SPEEDZONE G2 conversion kit gives an old vehicle new capabilities. By cutting the throttle valve wire on a mechanical pedal system, we can translate the mechanical motion of the pedal to an electrical signal; this enables the vehicle to communicate with all of our products, such as the PACE-ONEâ„¢ Speed Limiter and DOT-LOKâ„¢ Shift Inhibitor. Click on the links to find out more about how they work.

Universal

Our SPEEDZONE G2 System can be used on any vehicle with a mechanical pedal. Common applications such as tow tractors, airline ground support equipment, fuel trucks, etc.

DOT-LOKâ„¢/PACE-ONEâ„¢/Traction Combo

The SPEEDZONE G2 comes standard with the DOT-LOKâ„¢ Shift Inhibitor system, but it can also be pared up with PACE-ONEâ„¢ G2 Speed Limiter and traction control, which limit wheel slippage on slippery surfaces.

How It Works

Actuation

The throttle valve cable is cut and tied to the SPEEDZONE G2 mechanical interface. This allows the pedal to actuate the converter.

Conversion

The mechanical action by the pedal is transferred to our potentiometer, which sends the pedal position signal to our ECM.

Throttle

The ECM now sends the adjusted signal to our powerful stepper motor, which engages the throttle valve. This allows the vehicle speed limit to be changed without affecting climb capability or hydraulic characteristics, which is the main problem when using mechanical governors.
