DOT-LOKNomadā„¢ G2 Shift Inhibitor

Forklifts and industrial trucks take the most wear during aggressive shifting, sudden acceleration, and poor traction conditions. DOT-LOKā„¢ G2 is built to solve exactly that. As an intelligent shift inhibitor, it prevents unsafe gear engagement while improving control, drivetrain protection, and operator behavior in demanding environments.

Plug & Play

Safety Systems & Controls simplifies installations by using the same connectors OEMs use making our connections ā€œplug & playā€.

DOT-LOKā„¢ G2 uses OEM-style connectors, which means no cutting, no splicing, and no compromises to the factory wiring harness. This plug-and-play design shortens installation time and helps preserve the vehicle warranty.

How It Works

DOT-LOKā„¢ G2 prevents forklift operators from enabling a drive gear if the vehicle land speed and/or engine RPM level is too high. The transmission engages a gear, only when the throttle is low enough and the delay time has elapsed. The delay allows the engine to rev down before shifting occurs. DOT-LOKā„¢ interfaces directly to the vehicle APPS sensor if the vehicle is equipped with electronic throttle (Drive by Wire). DOT-LOKā„¢ MPE can be fitted on vehicles with mechanical throttle linkages by adding a limit switch.

This controlled behavior is the core function of a shift inhibitor, and it plays a direct role in extending equipment life.

Smarter Shifting, Safer Operation

The standard DOT-LOKā„¢ system defaults the transmission into NEUTRAL when shifting outside set shift ranges. By enabling the optional Engine Braking feature, the transmission remains in the gear in which the truck is traveling, and the engine automatically idles down utilizing engine assisted braking. By enabling the optional Auxiliary Lockout, the transmission automatically shifts into Neutral when required, i.e. the operator leaves the vehicle with the engine running and transmission engaged.

DOT-LOKā„¢ / Traction Control Combo

DOT-LOKā„¢ Speed Sensitive Shifting is available as a stand-alone product or can be purchased with Traction Control. DOT-LOKā„¢ G2 can be deployed as a standalone shift inhibitor or combined with an automatic traction control system for added safety in low-grip conditions. When paired with traction control, the system limits tire spin on surfaces affected by oil, water, dust, ice, or debris.

This automatic traction control system responds instantly when wheel spin is detected. It reduces unnecessary tire wear, improves stability, and prevents aggressive throttle behavior that leads to drivetrain damage.

DOT-LOKā„¢ / PACE-ONEā„¢ Combo

PACE-ONEā„¢ Speed Limiter is available as a stand-alone product or can be purchased with Traction Control. PACE-ONEā„¢ Traction Control has all the features of the standard Speed Limiter unit plus traction control. Traction control prevents the drive tires from free spinning when a forklift operates on slick surfaces such as ice, oil, water, dust, and ash-covered surfaces. The system further limits tire spinning when the inching pedal is dumped at high engine RPMs.

Capture Settings

PACE-One G2 builds upon the capture feature introduced in the previous generation ECM, capturing not only idle and wide-open-throttle settings but also voltage and hertz settings from a moving vehicle. In other words, you can click on any key on your laptop and save the settings for which you were traveling as a top speed setting.

Fault Detection / Data Logging

Should an output fault be detected within the ECM, internal fault detection will help identify where the error is coming from. Data logging records data from various inputs to help identify why an error occurred.
